Before each round of the WRC I'll find a classic clip as a warm-up to the action. It can be useful for getting an insight in what the rally is all about. This weekend's Rally Sweden is the only snow event on the calendar, which makes for some unusual happenings. 2004 was no different.

Kinja'd!!!

The challenging conditions means that this event is dominated by Scandinavian drivers. In the early 2000's the rally had been dominated by double world champion Marcus Grönholm, with 3 wins in four races. Also defending the Scandinavian honor was defending world champion Petter Solberg. However, Markko Märtin and Sebastien Loeb was looking to end the Scandinavian dominance in Sweden. Carlos Sainz has been close several times, finishing second four times in the late 1990's.

Other drivers include Francois Duval, Freddy Loix, Janne Tuohino and Gilles Panizzi. Mikko Hirvonen, Kristian Sohlberg and Henning Solberg also enter this years event.
